The Johnson Institute proudly invites you to participate in our annual fundraising dinner which celebrates those who have helped to light the pathway to delivering effective prevention, treatment and recovery programs.
This year’s event will take place at the Golden Valley Country Club on Thursday April 24, 2008 at 5:30 pm. The evening promises to be an enlightening event which will celebrate the advances in recovery from alcohol and other drugs through the hard work and dedication of the Johnson Institute and those closely associated.
This year, the Johnson Institute will again be awarding the “Advancing Help and Hope” Award for lifetime achievement. The recipient of this prestigious honor for 2008 will be John Curtiss, President of the Community of Recovering People board of directors and The Retreat. He is a living example of the Johnson Institute mission.
In gratitude for their contributions, the Johnson Institute honors one individual across the country by awarding the Irene and Wheelock Whitney Award on this night. This award is given to a man or woman who has advanced the understanding of faith and science in addiction prevention and recovery. The 2008 award will be presented to the Father Bill Wigmore. He is Chief Executive Officer of Austin Recovery, the largest chemical dependency treatment center in Central Texas.
Please join us for this special night of celebration. Although this is an annual event, this year’s event promises memories that will last a lifetime.
